LYRICS

 1. Goodbye Darlin'
Hang your head down on mine.  Let your fears drift away.
Wait awhile then you'll see that it'll all be okay.
Cause with you it never changes.  And with you it stays the same.
And with you it never changes cause with you it's just a game.
Goodbye darlin'.  Watch it go.  Now it's gone.

Lay your hand down on mine.  Let your tears fall and die.
Take awhile then come back home cause I know it wasn't a lie.
Cause with you it never changes. And with you it stays the same.
And with you it never changes cause with you it's just a game.
Goodbye darlin'. Watch it go. Now it's gone.

2. Just A Boy
Just look at the girl with her eyes colored.  Watch her lay him low and lay him down like her hair lying on her breast.
Now look at the boy with his mouth opened wide.  See him write her name up in the sky like the stars shining down on me.
Would you call my name, would you call it out loud if I was lost and gone and no where to be found.
Would you lay your head down on my sleeve or would you run away and try to be free from me?
Just look at the girl and the way she walks.  Watch her smile and laugh as she talks to me.  I got lucky somehow.
Now I'm just a boy running my fingers thru her hair.  She's all I got but I don't care cause I know I'm nothing without her.
Would you call my name, would you call it out loud if I was lost and gone and no where to be found.
Would you lay your head down on my sleeve or would you run away and try to be free from me?

3. Sweet Old Caroline
I'm so sorry I wasn't there.  I wanted to save you.
In my defense I didn't know what to do.
Sweet old Caroline there's nothing in your eyes tonight but tears.
I regret I wasn't there.  I wanted to save you.
In my defense there's was nothing I could do.
Sweet old Caroline there's nothing in your eyes tonight but tears.

4. Angel
You can't undo a life thats been died no matter how many songs you write or how long you dance in the sun.
Cause the worlds gonna change no matter what we do and there's no one to blame except for me and you.
Angel, you were a rose in a bushel of thorns.  I did what I could but in the end your life was torn.
So spread your wings and fly away.  Let heaven take you and may I see you one day.
So I'll sing you a song and say what I need to say.  Cause the Lord took your soul and spirit far away.
But the days gonna come and I'll see your face again.  No matter where you are, you're always deep within.
Angel, you were a rose in a bushel of thorns.  I did what I could but in the end your life was torn.
so spread your wings and fly away.  Let heaven take you and may I see you one day.

5. Dead Man Down the Nile
Well the suns coming up as the moon's going down on the north side of the river, on the east side of town.
I smoked my last cigarette and drank my bottle of wine.  Ever since my gal left me I've been doing hard time.
And the pills that she left me only worked for a while until the pain started flowing like a dead man down the Nile.
Well my gal's leaving town as her love's fading out on the south side of the river, on the west side of doubt.
I swear I ain't fooling around with you ever again.  You can take your pretty face and go find a new man.
And the pills that she left me only worked for a while until the pain started flowing like a dead man down the Nile.
And the love that she lent me only lasted for a while.  I might as well start flowing like a dead man down the Nile.

6. One More Round
Just take a shot of whiskey and you'll be just fine.
You got your problems.  Hell, I got mine.
Just one more round, just one more to go.
And we all die alone.
I can see it in your eyes, I can taste it on your breath.
You've been telling lies and giving second hand love at best.
But I ain't gonna complain and I ain't gonna cry.
Because when it's all over we all gotta die.
And we all die alone.

7. Breathe
Forever seems so far away when you're stuck in yesterday's haze.
I'm not the one who made up the rules - you gotta learn to win and learn to lose.
Letting go, I can't do because loving you turns a dark sky blue.
Driving home in the rain, just thinking of you takes away my pain.
Breathe tonight and everything's gonna be alright.
Love is like holding sand.  If you squeeze too tight it'll fall from your hand.
I'm still yours and your still mine.  We just gotta learn to take our time.
Because tomorrow is another day and before you know it we'll be okay.
And what we have it's beyond real.  That's something time can't ever steal.
Breathe tonight and everything's gonna be alright.
I take a walk on down the street and empty faces is all I meet.
In the window I see a manikin eyes and it makes me sad cause they look like mine.
The mail man says hi to me and give me a letter from over seas.
She wrote to tell me I'm not alone.  I wonder when she'll be coming home.
Breathe tonight and everything's gonna be alright.

8. Lucy
Lucy rode the midnight train tonight.  She packed her bags and made it on time.
And I don't know she left tonight.
She ended up west of my life.  She brought some pills but forgot her mind.
And I don't know she left tonight.
So send me a wish to pray on.  Borrow some love or steal some.
Cause I don't why you lied and I don't why I tried to be the one.
Lucy rode the midnight train tonight with a heavy heart and no wings to fly.
All she wanted was a reason not to die.  So she packed her bags and made it on time.
And now I know why she left tonight.

9. Lonesome Road
I went back to the city, the city of stone.  I met a man there who walked alone.
He was a wise man but he couldn't see.  I asked him what his name was he said Sandra Lee.
I didn't say a thing, I just looked at him.  Until I realized just where he'd been.
He'd gone to hell and back 14 times.  I just shooked my head and closed my eyes.
It's a long way back.  It's a long way home.
It's a long drive there on a lonesome road.
He met a girl in the city at the age of 18.  She was the queen of his heart, you know what I mean.
She gave the world to him and opened his eyes.  When she left one day he lost his sight.
I'm so sorry man for what she did.  It's okay he said I think I'll live.
14 years gone by without a thing to see.  Thank the Lord for love and Sandra Lee.

10. I Got Famous
I'm so sorry for what I've done.  I feel ageless but my young's too young.
So I picked up my guitar and wrote a song.  Yeah, I miss you darlin' but it felt so wrong
to keep you hanging like this so long.  So I best be moving, be moving on.
I got famous.  I got it all.  I saved the world but I lost the girl.
Goodbye darlin', you took too long.  And I ain't waiting so sing your song
about how I left you and broke your heart.  Tell me how you can finish what you don't start.
So please forgive me I can't rewind.  Love which is pure babe, I hope you find.
I got famous.  I got it all.  I saved the world but I lost the girl.
I wish I could say what you needed to hear.  But I'm too gone to really care
about finding the words deep in my heart.  So how can I finish what I never start.
I got famous.  You got it all.  I saved the world but you lost the girl.
I got famous.  I got it all.  I saved the world but I lost the girl.
